In late August, SECOORA convened a workshop in St. Petersburg, FL to assess the data management and applications requirements for the regional fisheries management community. Over 40 workshop participants met for two days with the goals of 1) establishing a stronger dialog between the physical
oceanography and marine biology communities; and 2) identifying some clear data management needs for the regional fisheries management community.

Special thanks to workshop co-hosts Kathleen O'Keife (FWRI) and Vembu Subramanian (USF) for all of their outstanding efforts in making the event so successful. SECOORA was pleased to welcome representatives from the public, private, non-profit, and academic sectors. GCOOS and CaRA were also
represented at the workshop by Chris Simoniello and Damian Ruiz, respectively.

Additional effort by the SECOORA staff is ongoing. For more information, contact Sam Walker, Kathleen O'Keife, or Vembu Subramanian.
